    D)  All of these

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Abscisic Acid (ABA) is called stress hormone or Dormin. The hormone is an inhibitor, which counteracts the influence of growth promoting hormone, induces dormancy and helps to evercome conditions of stress. It was discovered by Addicots et al, in 1963. Auxins are defined as organic substances, which promote shoot elongation, when present in low concentration. It was discovered by F W Went in 1928. The natural auxin occurring in plant is Indole Acetic Acid (IAA). Cytokinins (CK) are mildly basic growth hormone, which are usually amino-purine (occassionally adenine) derivatives and promote cell division in plants. The first cytokinin was discovered by Miller et al, (1955), through autoclaving Herring sperm DNA. The first natural cytokinin was discovered by Letham et al, (1963). It was zeatin found in unripe maize kernels.
