                     Adrenal gland secretes ?fright and flight? hormone, also known as emergency hormone or ?SF? hormone or aldrenaline. It increases the sensitivity and contractivity of cardiac muscles resulting in increase of blood flow. It prepare body at the time of fear, anxiety and shock. Pituitary gland also known as master gland, not only controls the body functions but also controls the functions of other endocrine glands. It secretes various hormones like somatotropic hormone, thyroid hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, luteotropic hormone (prolactin), vasopressin and oxytocin. Pineal gland is situated on the roof of 3rd ventricle of brain. The gland secretes melatonin, which helps in melanin distribution in children and suppresses secondary sexual characters. Thyroid gland is situated on the neck region extending from thyroid cartilage of larynx to 4th tracheal cartilage. It secretes thyroxin and caldtonin (decreases calcium level and acts more rapidly opposite to parathormone).
