                     Composite fruit develops from entire inflorescence. These are of two types (i) Sorosis develops from either spike or female catkin. (ii) Syconus or syconium develops from hypanthodium with flask shaped receptacle becoming fleshy and individual female flower producing small achene like fruitlets, eg, peepal, fig, banyan. The aggregate fruits are formed from polycarpellary, apocarpus ovary. Each ripened is called fruitlet or etario, eg, custard apple. Achenial fruits are simple, dry, single-seeded and indehiscent fruits, eg, achene, which is small dry one seeded fruit, develops from superior or inferior monocarpellary ovary. Berry is many seeded fleshy fruit, which develops from polycarpellary, syncarpous, superior ovary.
