                     The refractive index of a material is the factor by which the phase velocity of electromagnetic radiation is slowed in that material, relative to its velocity in vacuum. \[\therefore \]  \[\mu =\frac{u}{v}\] Given,   \[\mu =3\times {{10}^{8}}m/s\],   \[v=1.25\times {{10}^{8}}m/s\] \[\therefore \]  \[\mu =\frac{3\times {{10}^{8}}}{1.25\times {{10}^{8}}}=2.4\]
