AMU Medical AMU Solved Paper-2004

  • question_answer
A black body at 200 K is found to exit maximum energy at a wavelength 14 \[\mu \]m. When its temperature is raised to 1000 K, then wavelength at which maximum energy emitted is

    A)  14 mm

    B)  7 \[\mu m\]

    C)  2.8\[\mu m\]

    D)  28mm

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

                     From Wiens displacement law                 \[{{\lambda }_{m}}=\] constant                 \[{{\lambda }_{1}}{{T}_{1}}={{\lambda }_{2}}{{T}_{2}}\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[{{\lambda }_{2}}=\frac{{{\lambda }_{1}}{{T}_{1}}}{{{T}_{2}}}\] Given,   \[{{\lambda }_{1}}=14\mu m\],                 \[{{T}_{1}}=200\,K\],      \[{{T}_{2}}=1000\,K\] \[\therefore \]  \[{{\lambda }_{2}}=\frac{14\times 200}{1000}\]                 \[=28\,\mu m\]
