    A)                  fat

    B)                  protein

    C)                  carbohydrates

    D)                  auxins

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Aleurone cells are characterised by the presence of thick walls and non-vacuolated cytoplasm. The most prominent organelles of these cells are aleurone grains followed by spherosome. Aleurone grains are surrounded by a single unit membrane, which is closely associated with spherosomes. The main component of aleurone grains are protein, phospholipids and carbohydrates. Fats/lipids are reserve food substances of endosperm. These are reserved into discrete organelles known as lipid bodies, spherosomes or oleosomes. They usually consist of triacylglycerols surrounded by a half unit phospholipid membrane and a few proteins. In most seeds, principal storage carbohydrate is starch, which is composed of two a-glucan polymer, amylose and amylopectin packed as crystalline granule in amyloplast. Auxin is a growth hormone.
