    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Complex tissues are group of different types of cells having different origin and performing the same function, eg, Conducting tissue (xylem and phloem). Xylem is meant for conduction of water and mineral salts from root to the top of plant and consists of xylem tracheids, xylem vessels, xylem fibres and xylem parenchyma. Phloem is meant for conduction of food material from leaves to other plant parts and consists of sieve tubes, companion cells, fibres and parenchyma. Collenchyma is a type of permanent tissue, which was discovered by Schleiden (1839). The cells of collenchyma are living and the junctional places filled with cellulose and pectin. They usually form hypodermis in dicot stem, petioles and midrib. They are known as living mechanical tissues as they are supportive in function. Apical meristem occurs at the apices of shoots and roots and are responsible for plant  growth in length. Idioblasts are specialized secretory cells dispersed in ground tissue. A variety of contents such as oils, resin, tannins, gums, mucilage and crystals are found in these cells.
