                     Coniferous trees are the exclusive source of turpentine, which are generally viscous, honey like liquids or soft and brittle solid. Several species of Pinus are the source of crude turpentines oil. It is major constituent of paints and varnishes being used as thinner and solvent. Eucalyptus is source of eucalyptus oil. The oil is light yellowish in colour and has medicinal properties. It is widely used as a mosquito and vermin repellant, as a ingradient of germicidal, disinfecting, preparation of deodorizes and antiseptics and in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis.
