    D)                  Zn deficiency

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Zinc occurs in the soil in the form of ferromagnesian minerals like magnetites, and horn blende. It is required for synthesis of tryptophan, which is precursor of indole acetic acid and also a constituent of enzyme like carbonic anhydrase. It also plays an important role in protein synthesis because in its absence there is substantial increase in soluble nitrogenous compound. Its dificiency causes white bud disease, little leaf diseases, Khaira disease in paddy, motted leaf of apple,  citrus and walnut. Manganese functions as an activator of enzymes of respiration and nitrogen metabolism. It is essential for synthesis of chlorophyll and is also required in photosynthesis during photolysis of water. Its deficiency leads to chlorosis and necrosis of leaves, greyspot disease in oat, marsh spot in seeds of pea.
