                     In cochlea, are present organ of Corti. All vibrations, cause organ of Corti and tectorial membrane to vibrate and the sensory hair cells, of the organ of Corti generate relevant impulse which are transmitted to the brain by the fibres of cochlear branches of auditory nerve. Tympanic membrane is attached to and stretched over a cartilaginous ring call annulus tympanicus. Malleus, incus and stapes are ear or auditory ossicles. Malleus is largest and hammer shaped. Incus is anvil shaped. Its inner end is narrower and connected to stapes. Stapes is like stirrup with a large, triangular fossa. Semicircular canals are three in number and are present around the semicircular duct.
