If a given mass of gas occupies a volume 10 cc at 1 atm pressure and temperature \[100{}^\circ C\]. What will be its volume at 4 ac= pressure, the temperature being the same?

    A)  100 cc

    B)  400 cc

    C)  104 cc

    D)  2.5 cc

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                     From ideal gas law, we get                 \[\frac{{{p}_{1}}{{V}_{1}}}{{{T}_{1}}}=\frac{{{p}_{2}}{{V}_{2}}}{{{T}_{2}}}\] Given,   \[{{T}_{1}}={{T}_{2}}\],                  \[{{p}_{1}}=1\,\,atm\],                 \[{{V}_{1}}=10\,\,cc\],   \[{{p}_{2}}=4\,atm\]                 \[{{V}_{2}}=\frac{{{p}_{1}}{{V}_{1}}}{{{p}_{2}}}=\frac{1\times 10}{4}=2.5\,\,cc\]
