    A)  stony endocarp

    B)  stony mesocarp

    C)  edible epicarp

    D)  edible endocarp

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Drupe also known as stone fruit is a simple fleshy fruit or succulent fruit. In it pericarp is divided into three layers.  Epicarp forms the outer skin of fruit.  Mesocarp is pulpy and edible in most of the drupes.  The endocarp is stony. It encloses one, or rarely more (two in Zizyphus three in Borassus) seeds. In Borassus each seed is covered by its own endocarp. Endocarp is edible of parthenocarpic berry like banana.
