    B)  Pinocytes

    C)  Thesocytes

    D)  Cnidoblast

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Choanocytes are also known as collar cells, they are main constituents of choanoderm or gastroderm. They were discovered by Clark. They are uniflagellalte and collared. They are concerned with digestion. Beating of their flagella creates water currents. Pinocytes are constituent of pinacoderm or dermal layer. They are flat cells with central bulge and narrow edges and are modified to form contractile myocytes around oscula and ostia. Thesocytes are food storing cells. Cnidoblasts or nematoblasts or stinging cells are organs of offence and defence of coelenterates. They bear a sensory bristle or cnidocel and a bladder or sac called nematocyst. Each cell has a long coiled tube with smooth, spiny or barbellate surface.
