    A)  truecoelom

    B)  pseudocoelom

    C)  schizocoelom

    D)  phycocoelom

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Ascaris lumbricoides belongs to the phylum-Aschelminthes or Nemathelminthes. They are the only pseudocoelomates. Pseudocoelom is an intracellular space formed by fine pseudocoelomates. It is filled with pseudocoelomic fluid, which helps in nutrition excretion and respiration. Its pseudocoel allows muscles of body wall to act independently of digestive tract. In true coelom, coelom cavity is lined by mesodermal epithelium called peritonium. Schizocoelom is formed by splitting of embryonic mesoderm.
