    A)  Vagus

    B)  Epinephrine

    C)  Norepinephrine

    D)  Glossopharyngeal nerve

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Glossopharyngeal is a mixed nerve, which originated from the side of medulla oblongata and is present in tastebuds from pharynx and second half of tongue, pharyngeal muscles, parotid gland and is responsible for taste, swallowing and salivation. Vagus nerve or pneumogastric is a mixed nerve and originated from side of medulla oblongata. It is 10th cranial nerve a paired nerve that supplies branches to many major internal organs. It causes motor nerve fibres to the heart lungs and visceal and sensory fibres from the viscera. Epinephrine/Adrenalin is an amine hormone secreted by adrenal medulla on stimulation of sympathetic nervous system for meeting an emergency. It influences skeletal muscles, cardiac muscles, smooth muscles (blood vessels) and fat cells. Nor-epinephrine/Nor-adrenalin is a bigenic amine. It is a tonus hormone for circulatory system. It raise systolic and diastolic pressure through constricting small arteries without mobilising body reserve or raising function of skeletal/smooth muscles.
