                    Tracks (foot prints) formed over dryland or sea bottom or in muddy environments and trails (made on just below the surface of soft  sediments) are examples of impression. They are covered by sediments before they are disturbed or eroded. Trails are irregular marking of animals, such as those formed due to crawling of worm .or snail, the impressions of fins of fish, etc., found on sedimentary rocks.
