    Solution :

                     Change in \[PE=\frac{GMm}{R}-\frac{GMm}{(n+1)R}\]                 \[=\left( \frac{n}{n+1} \right)mgR\] where, n is integral multiple of R. Here value of-\[n=1\] \[\therefore \]  Change in \[PE=\frac{mgR}{2}\]
