                     The system of animal body, which protects it from various infectious agents and cancer is known as immune system. The complement system is a defensive system consisting of plasma proteins that attack and destroy the microbes. The term 'complement' refers to a system of factors occurring innormal serum, that are activated characteristically by antigen antibody interaction and sub-sequently mediate a number of biologically significant consequences. Animals are continually exposed to various foreign particles, including infectious agents like bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites lipids and nucleic acid do not serve as immunogens.
