Directions : In the following question more than one of the answers given may be correct. Select the correct answer and mark it according to the code:

Glomerular filterate is : (1) formed continuously by the process of ultrafi Iteration occurring at malpighian corpuscles in which the blood cells and the colloidal macromolecues are not allowed to pass across the filtering surface (2) the lipid free fluid collected within the lumen of Bowman's capsule (3) the protein free fluid collected within the lumen of Bowman's capsule (4) formed by the process of selective reabsorption

    A)  1, 2 and 3 are correct

    B)  1 and 2 are correct

    C)  1,2 and 4 are correct

    D)  1 and 3 are correct

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Water and many dissolved substances from the blood are Filtered into the lumen of the Bowman's capsule through glomerular filtration. The glomerular filtrate contains a large amount of water and other dissolved substances such as urea uric acid, glucose, amino acids, vitamins etc. Glomerular filtrate does not have proteins and fats. From the Bowman's capsule the glomerular filtrate enter the proximal convoluted tubule. Absorption of selected materials takes place from the Filtrate into the blood of the periiuhular capillaries.
