They belongs to family Cucurbitaceae and plants in the family are moslty monoecious, sometimes dioecious as in Coccimo cordifolla and Momordica dioica and rarely bisexuals as in Schizopepon. In mango neuter male and female flower occur together. Flowers, are polygamous- and rogynomonoecious. i.e., staminate, pistillate and bisexual flowers are born on the same plant.
