                     Spleen consists of two types of pulp-small patches of white pulp and bulk of red pulp. White pulp has compact lymphatic tissue containing mostly lymphocytes   which surround the anerioles. Red pulp appears reddish due to RBCs. It contains numerous venous sinusoids which are large and complex cavities containing blood. The venous sinusoids are separated by areas of tissue rich in macrophages attached to the reticulum of spleen called splenic cord of  Billroth,
