    Solution :

                 In case of complementary genes, two genes (non-allelic) control same character but produce expression only when two dominant genes come together. In absence of any dominant gene, recessive phenotype (new trait) is produced. The phenotypic ratio in F2 generation is 9:7. eg, flower colour in Lathyrus odoratus (sweet pea).
