    B)  1 and 2 are correct.

    C)  2 and 4 are correct.

    D)  1 and 3 are correct.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Ophioglossum reproduces by means of spores, which are formed within sporangia. The latter are borne on a fertile segment, which projects from the leaf near the junction of the petiole and lamina. This sporangiferous fertile segment is known as fertile spike. Equisetum is a homosporous pteridophyte. The spores develop within sporangia borne on sporangiophores, which are aggregated into a compact cone or strobillus. Psilotum reproduces by means of spores produced in sporangia borne at the distal end of the dichotomously branched aerial shoot. Sporangium is a trilobed structure in which each lobe has a spore sac with numerous spores. Such a sporangium formed by a group of two or more spore sacs is called synangium.
