    Solution :

                     The iodinated hormones thyroxin or tetraiodo- thyronine \[\left( {{T}_{4}} \right)\] and triiodothyronine\[{{T}_{3}})\] are secreted by follicle cells of thyroid gland and are considered collectively under the name Thyroid Hormone (TH) due to similar effect on target cells. These hormones increase \[\text{IQ}\] and basal metabolic rate (BMR), rate of cellular respiration, body temperature and also increase production of energy by an increase in the oxidation of glucose.
