    Solution :

                     Adventitious roots of certain plants get modified to perform vital (physiological functions). When these roots become green and carry out photosynthesis, these are called assimilatory roots or photosynthetic roots. Eg, Tinospora, Trapa, Taeniophyllum Podostemon, etc. Loranthus and Viscum are the parasitic plants having parasitic or haustorial roots. In Saccharum offidnarum (sugarcane)and Pandanus (screw pine), stilt roots are found. which develop obliquely from the basal nodes of the stem near the soil.
