                     Halophytes are plans of saline habitats which have not only the ability to tolerate high concentrations of salts in their rooting medium but are able to obtain their water supply from high salt concentrated soil because they have highest osmotic pressure. Halophytes grow in saline soil, Pneumatophores are the respiratory roots present in halophytes and helps in respiration. These roots are negative geotropic, as in Rhuzophora, Avicennia etc. Xerophytes are plants which grow in dry habitats e.g., Opuntia, Agave. Hygrophytes are plants which grow in places where high atmospheric humidity is present e.g.. Orchid. Mesophytes are plants which grow in normal condition of temperature e.g., Mango.
