                     Sphagnum (peat moss or bog moss) is employed for dressing of wounds. The dead decomposed Sphagnum plants deposited are called peat. These peat are used as a fuel. Sphagnum's stem is having special water storing cells called retort cells. So, Sphagnum have high capacity of absorbing water. Marchantia, Riccia and Funaria does not have any economical importance.
