     Folic acid is essential for synthesis of nitrogenous bases i.e., purines and pyrimidines. These bases are basic unit of DNA molecules. So, folic acid is necessory for DNA synthesis. Sources of folic acid are liver, kidney, soyabean. Deficiency causes-anaemia. Vitamin-D, vitamin K and vitamin-E are essential for bone formation; blood clotting and fertility respectively.
