                     In members of Cruciferae, secretory cells are found which contains myosin enzyme characteristic smell of these plants is due to presence of sulphur containing glucosides which hydrolyses them into glucose and isothiocynates. Latex is characteristic feature of family Papaveraceae e.g., Poppy. Pectin are mucopolysaccharides that occur in plant cell walls. Alkaloids are nitrogenous substances e.g., Quinine from bark of Cinchona, reserpine from roots of Rauwolffia serpentina, atropine from Atropha belladona.
