The momentum of a photon in an X-ray beam of \[{{10}^{-10}}\]metre wavelength is

    A) \[2.2\times {{10}^{-50}}kg\,m/s\]

    B) \[6.0\times {{10}^{-44}}kg\,m/s\]

    C) \[1.5\times {{10}^{-23}}kg\,m/s\]

    D) \[5.9\times {{10}^{-24}}kg\,m/s\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

                                                           de Broglie equation for momentum of photon is \[p=\frac{h}{\lambda }\]                         .....(i) where X is wavelength (Here, \[\lambda ={{10}^{-10}}m,\,h=6.6\times {{10}^{-34}}Js\] ) So, from equation (i) \[p=\frac{6.6\times {{10}^{-34}}}{{{10}^{-10}}}\] \[=6.6\times {{10}^{-24}}kgm/s\]
