Which of the following is not an intermediate in Krebs cycle?

    A)  Acetic acid

    B)  Succinyl coenzyme-A

    C)  Maleic acid

    D)  Citric acid

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The end product of glycolysis is pyruvic acid whereas acetyl Co-A is connecting link between givcolvsis and Krebs cvclc. TCA was first described by Krebs as a cyclic process in which acetyl Co-A is oxidised to \[C{{O}_{2}}\] and \[{{H}_{2}}O.\]The enzymes of Krebs cycle are found in matrix of mitochondrion. Malic acid, citric acid and succinyl   co-enzyme   A   are   the intermediate compounds in Krebs cycle whereas Acetic acid is not involved with Krebs cycle.
