Which of the following are possible values of n, I and m for an atom having maximum value of \[m=+2\]?

    A)  \[n=4,1=3,\text{ }m=+2\]

    B)  \[n=3,l=2,\text{ }m=-2\]

    C)  \[n=3,l=3,\text{ }m=+2\]

    D)  \[n=4,l=3,m=-2\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    If \[m=+2,l=2\] [\[\because \]\[m=-l\] to \[+l\]] and      \[l=n-1\] \[2=n-1\] \[\therefore \]  \[n=3\] Hence, when \[n=3,\] \[l=2\], the maximum value of m is \[+2\].
