                    Sebaceous gland are located in outer region of dermis. Sebum an only substance is secreted by  them. The sebum is responsible to lubricate the hair and skin and protect the exoskeleton of body from moisture  and   microorganism  as  possess antibacterial properties. The nature of these glands are hotocrine, i.e., when full of sebum (secretion) their cells themselves disintegrate and are discharged as secretion.
