  • question_answer
A child has blood group 0 and his father is of B blood group. What will be the genotype of father?

    A)  \[{{l}^{A}}{{l}^{B}}\]

    B)  \[{{l}^{B}}{{l}^{O}}\]

    C)  \[{{l}^{O}}{{l}^{A}}\]

    D)  \[{{l}^{O}}{{l}^{O}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Genotype of a person with blood group B may be \[{{l}^{B}}{{l}^{B}}\] or \[{{l}^{B}}{{l}^{O}}\], But person with genotype \[{{l}^{B}}{{l}^{B}}\], cannot have offspring with blood group O in any case, but if the persons genotype is \[{{l}^{B}}{{l}^{O}}\] then his/her offspring may have blood group O. The blood group of mother of the child must be either O or B.
