The equation to the sides of a triangle are \[x-3y=0,\text{ }4x+3y=5\]and\[3x+y=0\]. The line \[3x-4y=0\]passes through:

    A)  the incentre

    B)         the centroid

    C)  the orthocentre

    D)         the circumcentre

    E)  none of these

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Two sides\[x-3y=0\]and\[3x+y=0\]are perpendicular to each other. Therefore its orthocentre is the point of intersection of \[x-3y=0\]and\[3x+y=0\]i. e., (0, 0). Clearly (0, 0) satisfies\[3x-4y=0\].
