The equation of one of the diameters of the circle\[{{x}^{2}}-{{y}^{2}}-6x+2y=0\]is

    A)  \[x-3y=0\]

    B)  \[x+3y=0\]

    C)  \[3x+y=0\]

    D)         \[3x-y=0\]

    E)  \[x+2y=0\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The equation of circle is \[{{x}^{2}}-{{y}^{2}}-6x+2y=0\] centre\[=(3,-1)\] Since, the equation of diameter passes through the centre of the circle, then the coordinates of centre will satisfy the equation of diameter. From option, only the equation is \[x-3y=0\].
