CET Karnataka Medical CET - Karnataka Medical Solved Paper-2002

  • question_answer
In the circuit shown in the figure, the A.C. source   gives a voltage V = 20 cos (2000 t). Neglecting source resistance, the voltmeter and ammeter reading will be:

    A)  1.68 V, 0.47 A

    B)  0 V, 0.47 A

    C)  5.6 V, 1.4 A

    D)  0V, 1.4 A

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    \[Z=\sqrt{{{10}^{2}}+{{({{X}_{L}}-{{X}_{C}})}^{2}}}\] \[{{X}_{L}}=2000\times {{510}^{-3}}=10\Omega \] \[{{X}_{C}}=\frac{1}{WC}=\frac{1}{200\times 50\times {{10}^{-6}}}=10\Omega \] \[Z=\sqrt{{{10}^{2}}+0}=10\Omega \] Reading of ammeter \[=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{20}{10}\]\[{{i}_{\max }}=2amp.\] \[{{i}_{r.m.s.}}=\frac{2}{\sqrt{2}}=1.41amp.\] \[{{V}_{r.m.s.}}=4\times 1.41=5.64V\]
