    Autogamy is a type of self-pollination which occurs between anther and stigma of same flower. Cliestogamous flowers, remain closed so that only self pollination occurs. Examples include Commelina, ground nut, balsam, viola, oxalis. Cross pollination (allogamy) involves the transfer of pollen grains from the flower of one plant to the stigma of flower of other plant. Cross pollination brought about by the agency of insects is called entomophily. The pollination of flower by wind is known as anemophily. Ornithophily is the type of cross pollination brought about by birds.
