It has 10 times more nitrogen, 7 times more phosphorus, 6 times more potash and some micronutrients as compared to normal soil. It was found that upto 50000 earthworm can bring up several tones of deeper subsoil on to the surface discharging it as their casting. Humus is the decomposed plant material of the soil. A horizon contain high amount of humus.
