    B)  It is composed of outer white matter and inner grey matter.

    C)  It is composed of outer grey matter and inner colorless matter.

    D)  It is composed of grey matter only.

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

: Grey matter is the inner area of spinal cord, so named because it lacks myelin, and therefore appears grey in an unstained preparation. Surrounding grey matter are bundles of myelinated nerve fibres which together form white matter of the spinal cord. The location of white and grey matter is opposite to that in brain where grey matter forms the cortex around the inner white matter.
