    : Upper epidermis of some monocot leaves possess large bulliform or motor cells (labelled A) that perform the motor action of rolling of leaves during dry conditions to reduce transpiration. Undifferentiated mesophyll (labelled B) performs photosynthesis. Vascular bundle (labelled C) perform conduction of water and nutrients and stomata (labelled D) which are present on both surfaces performs transpiration and gaseous exchange.
