    B) ` 16775

    C) ` 12240

    D) ` 10930

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Sol.      [b] Let the amount invested in Scheme Y be ` P  The amount invested in Scheme X is ` (25400 - P). Now we know that, Simple Interest (SI) = \[=\,\frac{P\times R\,\times \,T}{100}\] According to the question, \[\frac{(25400-p)\,\times 18\times 2}{100}\,+\,\frac{p\times 10\times 2}{100}\,=\,6460\] 18 (25400 - p) +10p = 323000 457200 - 18p + 10p = 323000 - 8p = - 134200 P = `16775 \[\therefore \]Amount invested in Scheme Y is 16775.
