                    Thymus is a bilobed lymphoid organ and an endocrine gland situated nearest to heart. It is active in young ones producing T-lymphocytes and antibodies but gradually becomes inconspicuous or atrophies at age of 14-16 i.e., after sexual maturity. The decline and disappearance of thymus gland by late middle age is the primary cause of ageing. Pineal gland is located at roof of diencephalon. It secreted melatonin, serotonin and adrenoglo-merulotropin and involved in circadian rhythms. It Starts to degenerate at about 7 year in man and becomes a fibrous and vestigeal in adults. Thyroid is the largest endocrine gland secreting thyroxine and calcitonin. It dont get degenerates in humans life except in, Hashimotos disease which is the suicide of thyroid. Parathyroides are two pairs, embedded in dorsal surface of thyroid gland. Its hormone, parathormone maintains calcium and phosphate metabolsim in body. It also never degenerates in humans life.
