    Cyanide   resistant   respiration   is   the characteristic of plants. The respiration that continue even in presence of cyanide and amide is said to be cyanide resistant respiration.  In  plants  mitochondria  an alternative route allows transport of electrons to oxygen. Any of numerous thallophytes of the division fungi, comprising the mushrooms, molds, rusts,  smuts etc. These are characterized chiefly by absence of chlorophyll and by subsisting upon dead or living organic matter. Virus is an infectious agent especially any of a group of ultra-microscopic, infectious agents that reproduce only in living cells.
