    Solution :

Cranial nerves numbering IV, V, VI are  trochlear, trigeminal and abducens. The nerves coming out from the brain constitute the cranial nerves. Each cranial nerve originates from a distinct separate root. VII (facial nerve) arises from the lower part of the pons varolii. It bears geniculate ganglion. It innervates the taste buds of the tongue and muscles of the face. VIII (auditory nerve) comes from the internal ear (membranous labyrinth) and joins the lateral side of the pons varolii.
