    A)  epidermal tissue system

    B)  vascular tissue system

    C)  meristematic tissue system

    D)  ground tissue-system

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The cotton fibres represent epidermal prolongation of seed coat cells. Differentiation of such hairy growths occur on the epidermal surface of ovule even before pollination. The primary wall of fibre coated with cutin and cellulose is deposited on the inner surface of primary wall. Vascular tissue system consists of a number of vascular bundles which are found to be distributed in the stele. Each vascular bundle consists of xylem and phloem with or without cambium. In the stem the ground tissue system is present in between epidermis and vascular cylinder. The ground tissue system consists of main bulk of plant body and extends from below the epidermis to the centre.
