When a person is exposed to cold surrounding, which of the following does not occur ?

    A)  Secretion of adrenal medulla and thyroid increase

    B)  Shivering occurs

    C)  Vasoconstricdon in skin vessels supplying blood to hairs

    D)  Heart beat and volume of blood per stoke increase

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

During cold hairs, subdermal fats etc., prevent fall in body temperature. If body temperature tends to fall even otherwise the blood vessels  and capillaries of skin constrict (vasoconstriction) due to sympathetic stimulation minimising blood supply to the skin and thus preventing heat loss through body surface. When a person exposed to cooling secretion of adrenal medulla and thyroid increase, heart beat and volume of blood per stoke increase and shivering occurs.
