    Liver is the largest gland of vertebrate body. It is soft and solid reddish brown structure located most anteriorly in abdominal cavity. It is generally 1.2-1.8 kg in weight. The liver performs many functions as- (i) bile synthesis     (ii) Excretion     (iii) Glycogenesis     (iv) Giycogenolysis     (v) Detoxification      (vi) Phagocytosis (viii)Storage. Pancreas is heterocrine (endocrine as well as exocrine) gland. It is soft tubulated grayish pink gland which weights about 60 grams. Gall bladder is a pear shaped sac- like structure attached to the posterior surface of the liver by connective tissue. Its main function is storage of bile. Brain is the anterior most part of central nervous system which weighs from 1220 to 1400 gms.
