Which of the following is absent in DNA?

    A)  U

    B)  A

    C)  T

    D)  G

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

There are two types of nitrogenous bases in nucleic acid which are purines and pyrimidines. The two purines adenine and guanine are found in both DNA and RNA and the pyrimidines in DNA are thymine and cytosine, while uracil and cytosine in RNA. Adenine binds to thymine or uracil by two hydrogen bonds while guanine with cytosine by three hydrogen bonds.
