B) stomach wall of mosquito
C) RBCs of man
D) salivary gland of mosquito
Correct Answer: B
Solution :
Asexual cycle of Plasmodium vivax is operated in human while the sexual cycle in female Anopheles mosquito. The life cycle is studied under following headings. (i) Liver schizogony: Sporozoite (infective stage) present in the saliva of mosquito are introduced in human blood stream and enters into liver cell. During pre-erythrocytic phase the Sporozoite becomes cryptozoite and divide to form cryptomerozoite. During exo-erythrocytic phase the cryptomerozoite. rise to large number of metacryptomerozoites. (ii) Erythrocytic stage: The metacryptomerozoites enters the red blood corpuscles and transformed to trophozoites, which undergoes Signet ring stage. Their enzyme bring about proteolysis of haemoglobin into protein and hematin. The hematin forms the toxic material haemozoin. The trophozoite develop to become schizont which changed to merozoite. Few merozoites form gametocytes (mega and micro gametocyte) (iii) Sexual cycle in mosquito: The gametocytes are ingested by female Anopheles mosquito from infected person. The fusion of microgamete and macrogamete forms the zygote which later known as ookinite. The ookinite penetrates through wall of midgut become encysted and called oocyst. Each oocyst enter a phase of asexual multiplication known as sporogony. About 10,000 minute sporozoites are formed from oocyst. You need to login to perform this action.
